Bogota Gay Tours

Bogota

Europeans that came to this land in 1538 went up the mountain and settled at a place that gave them an advantage to control the big plateau. This Europeans also settled here because they found very organized tribes that told stories of rituals in which gold pieces, emeralds and other precious stones were thrown into lagoons by people dressed in gold.

That plateau is where the city of Bogotá now rests, a settlement for many people and that for hundreds of years seemed like a very peaceful, quiet and sometimes boring place that nevertheless was always the political center of the territory. Sometimes still, sometimes in a hurry. Sometimes conservative, sometimes revolutionary. A little bit less than a hundred years ago people started to leave the old city first towards north and south and suddenly the city grew exponentially and today is one of the biggest cities, modern and cosmopolitan where fortunately we can still find evidences of all of these moments.

At 2600 meters above sea level, this megalopolis is filled with places to enjoy a wide variety of events and activities like rock concerts, walks through historical neighborhoods as well as commercial areas. In Bogotá there´s the chance to ride a bike in one of the many roads that are closed on Sundays and holidays just for people to skate, jog, walk or ride bikes.
