Bogota’s historic center is where it all began. Witness of this cosmopolitan city’s development, La Candelaria is the place that keeps the magic of the colonial moment, when the so called South American was just a seed of what it is today.
A stroll around the stoned paths of the city center is to be the spectator of a space where the architecture, the art and the culture are combined in a perfect way. The Congress, The Primal Cathedral, The Justice Palace and The Mayor’s Headquarters are resisting the pass of time in a zone full of history, where The Republic was built.
If you are interested in the pre-Columbian tradition, The Gold Museum will show you the techniques, the native cultures and the traditions that are a trademark of this historical moment. On the other hand, The Botero Museum has the biggest collection of original pieces made by the popular Colombian artist, Fernando Botero.
We can’t leave Bogotá without trying the traditional ajiaco, characteristic potato and chicken soup. Local gastronomy offers a wide menu for lunchtime, so you could choose among all of them.
After taking lunch, we can choose between different places to visit: Museo Quinta de Bolivar, National Museum, Archeological Museum, XIX Century Museum, Typical Costumes Museum, Military Museum, etc. We will choose two of them, depending on your preferences.
