The Salt Cathedral in Zipaquira is a place that everyone who goes to Colombia must visit. A monument to faith that became an architectural piece like no other.

Near to Bogotá, Zipaquira is a colonial town known for its beauty. But its typical architecture is not its principal attraction. 180 meters under the ground we can find an engineering jewel, famous around the world: The Salt Cathedral. Let’s see with our own eyes this space that will leave you breathless. Inside the mine there are different pieces of work that, due to its size and illumination, make this place a mandatory destination.

We can also travel around the fascinating small villages from the Bogotá savannah, like Nemocón(Salt Mine) and Guatavita(El Dourado legend) that offers typical handcrafts and scenarios with exceptional beauty.

Lunchtime will lead us to explore the flavors of the local gastronomy, with different fresh ingredients that will amaze you with all types of colors, smells and textures.

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet this amazing place so close to Bogotá!

After I reading good reviews here, I called Eric.
And invited his two tours.
The tour gave me a guide named Jenny Baez.
I must say it was very kind, patient, hard-working, and gave the feeling that we travelers together
The tour I did alone and therefore it was important for me to a professional counselor
For the price, is a little expensive, but you get a good return
If you are looking for a counselor in Bogota good I would recommend Jenny Baez.

Two Day Private Tour

Oct 03, 2015 by Wutluk

My husband and I booked Hansa Tours with Daniel Pedrazo while in Bogota. We did a city tour and ZIpaquira. Both days with the same guide and we loved it because they were both different experiences. Daniel catered the tours to our needs and even took us on little errands for wierd things like a soccer jersey and an arepa con huevo that I was craving. He addapted to our needs and didnt make the tour boring or slow. He knew all the cool, unique local places and advised us to some restaurants that werent in any guidebookes. Had the best meal during our trip at a lunch place her recommended in La Calandaria. I would highly recommened doing Hansa Tours, they are on time, safe, nice cars, and fun!!!

Hansa Tours Is Great

My husband and I truly enjoyed our two tour guides with Hansa Tours while in Bogota. We were able to hit the highlights of the City with ease and a ton of information at hand given the guidance provided every step of the way. We had the pleasure of being guided by Daniel Pedraza when visiting the Salt Cathedral (which is a MUST SEE), and he was extremely knowledgable about not only the history of the Cathedral but the design/artist techniques used within the Cathedral’s features. He did not rush our photo-taking, and he was really flexible throughout the day. Great guides!

“Very Insightful”

Jul 10, 2014 by Lee

I decided last minute to go to Bogota for 4.5 days and I arranged for all the tours and transfers with Hansa. Firstly, corresponding with Evelyn for me to pick which tours that I was more interested in were handled very professionally, despite the short notice. I even contemplated on doing a day trip to Cartagena, but later decided not to as it might be too tight for time. The four days touring around Bogota, Villa de Leyva and Zipaquira with Juan David were amazing and very insightful. Being a History major, Juan provided lots of interesting commentary for one to understand the local history and culture. When I mentioned that my friends back home highly recommended a meal at Andres Carne, he re-structured the itinerary so that we had the chance to go there on the way back to Bogota. I am glad that I extended for another half day of tours to go to the Church of Santa Clara, as it is simply stunning! Juan David was very professional and was flexible to accommodate any changes. He speaks excellent English and I felt extremely safe traveling with him. Highly recommended!

“Great one day trip to Guatavita Lake and Zipaquira Salt Cathedral”

Jul 10, 2014 by Monica

Booked a one day trip via the hotel concierge, and was a great experience. The places we visited were the Guatavita Lake and the Zipaquira Salt Cathedral. Both places, the first a natural landmark and the second created by the people, were breathtaking. Our guide was John Alexander Murcia who, a travel passionate himself, had great knowledge about the places we visited but about greatest places in the world as well. Very friendly, John made our second day in Colombia unforgettable. I highly recommend John for his services. He was the first to show us what a great country is Colombia and how friendly the people are. By the end of the day it felt like we knew him for a while. We would definitely use his services again next time we are in Bogota!

“So much fun we had to do both!”

We were originally just going to do the city tour to get an idea of the city, it was so much fun we decided to do the Salt Cathedral! We had different guides for each and they both spoke wonderful English which was a relief!
Those guys were very professional and fun! It was like hanging out with some Colombian friends! 5 stars all the way!

“Our Guide Helped to Make Our Brief Visit Memorable”

Jul 10, 2014 by David Ratcliffe

We visited Bogota for a very brief 3 day, 2 night stay. Fortunately for us, we hired Hansa Tours to show us around and we were lucky enough to get Byron Leon as our guide. He was exceptionally pleasant, accommodating, intelligent, patient (!), and gave us very sound advice. We can’t say enough good things about our trip and in large part due to Byron Leon and Hansa Tours.

“Top notch experience, worth the price”

My wife and I took the 8 hour tour that stopped at Guatavita (El Dorado lagoon) then at Zipaquira (Salt Cathedral). We normally do not spend this much on tours but this was well worth it. We did see some other companies offering tours for slightly less but I am confident we got the best tour possible. Our tour guide, Byron, was great. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything we saw on the tour, spoke great english, and just a great ambassador to his city and country. Also, the lunch we had was phenomenal. After working up an appetite hiking up to the lagoon, we had some huge chicken and Colombian steak meals at a great restaurant. We definitely recommend Hansa after our positive experience.
