Walking Tour Bogota

In this Cadelaria Tour you will get to know Bogotá’s historic center, where it all began. Witness the development of this cosmopolitan city. La Candelaria keeps the magic of the colonial era, when South America was just a seed of what it is today.

To walk around the cobbled paths of the city center is to witness an area where the architecture, the art and the culture are combined in a perfect way. You also will have the opportunity to get to see The Congress, The Prime Cathedral, The Justice Palace and The Main Town Hall that are standing the test of time in a zone full of history, where the republic was built.

If you are interested in the pre-Colombian tradition, the Gold Museum, in this Candelaria tour, will show you the native culture and the traditions that are a trademark of this historical city. On the other hand, The Botero Museum has the biggest collection of the original pieces made by the popular Colombian artist, Fernando Botero.

I had one day and booked an 8 hour tour that included Monserrate, a fabulous walking tour of La Candelaria and lunch. Alejandro was tour guide was outstanding, first off he had the patience of a saint given my limited Spanish but more so he was knowledgeable and personable. We saw about 5 different churches (my weakness) and museums. Walked for hours and we never had a quiet moment be it talking Bogota history or world economy. Also a shout out to Paul our driver who navigated the traffic and recommended a great restaurant. Saludos

I don’t normally do walking tours, but this one was exceptional. Very communicative and flexible in arranging the private tour for the two of us (offering a number of different options to suit our schedule). We had an extremely knowledgeable and friendly tour guide (David, a Bogota local). We met David at the Botero museum (really good art gallery!), which was very easy – the company sent us his photo and contact details a few hours before. The city itself is lovely – I particularly loved the mountain backdrops always appearing over the cityscapes – and we ended in a great local restaurant to try a regional speciality chicken soup. Highly recommended.
