In this Salt Cathedral tour in Zipaquira you will travel to a place that everyone who goes to Colombia must visit. A monument to faith that became an architectural piece like no other.

Near to Bogotá, Zipaquira is a colonial town known for its beauty. But its typical architecture is not its principal attraction. 180 meters under the ground we can find an engineering jewel, famous around the world: The Salt Cathedral. Witness with your own eyes a unique place that will leave you breathless. Inside the mine there are different pieces of stone work and sculpting that, due to their size and illumination, make this spectacular wonder a mandatory destination.

We can also travel around the fascinating small villages from the Bogotá savannah, like Nemocón (Salt Mine) and Guatavita (El Dorado legend) that offer typical handcrafts and scenery with exceptional beauty.

Lunchtime will lead us to explore the flavors of the local gastronomic scene, with different fresh, delicious ingredients all types of colors, smells and textures.

I am from Canada and visited Bogota recently. I had a private tour of the Salt Cathedral with Hansa Tours and it was great! I always felt safe and at ease. My tour guide Andres was knowledgeable and professional. He also was kind enough to help with taking photos. I had a great day and would high recommend this tour to any foreigners. You won’t be disappointed!

I went to Bogota for my vacation and Hansa Tours arranged my airport transfers, as well as 1/2 day tours including The History Tour, Tour of Monserrate, and Tour of Salt Cathedral. I must say, all tours were extremely good, but I was most impressed with the Salt Cathedral (it is hard to describe, and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before–google it to see amazing pictures). I use private tour companies for all of my travels so I have had a wide range of experiences, and Hansa Tours is one of the best. They were always on time, they were very easy to work with, and my tour guide-Nicol-was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun to be with. I had a terrific time with her and my tours were very enjoyable. I’m only sorry that I waited so long to visit Colombia….I have had private tours in many other South American countries, and to my surprise, my other tour guides told me that their favorite place to go is Colombia (and now I understand why!)

Had a wonderful experience with Daniel at Hansa Tours. After waiting outside our hotel for over 1 1/2 hours by Viatar Tour company and ultimately told we could not go on our 8 hr. hike due to their tardiness, we decided to salvage the day and take the Salt Cathedral through Hansa Tours. So happy we did! We were taken by private vehicle from the door of our hotel to the Salt Cathedral. Our tour guide was Daniel and he was exceptional! He discussed every area of town we passed through with great knowledge, information, and historical facts. He was amazing. We learned more about Bogota during our time with Daniel than we did our entire Colombia trip. Not only did we receive a wonderful tour but we made a new friend. I would highly recommend Hansa Tours. On time, reputable, and worth the cost. Ask for Daniel. He is the best tour guide in Colombia!

A wonderful day exploring El Catedral de Sal, Chia, the Alpina factory store, and an insanely scenic drive back to Bogota along Route 50. Fabian was an amazing guide, both knowledgeable and personable. It was like spending the day with a good friend. I would absolutely recommend Hansa tours to anyone visiting Bogota.

This was an awesome tour!!! We took the cathedral and graffiti tour and it was so much fun! I went with my two younger sisters from Costa Rica and our guide knew everything about Bogota and it’s music culture which we were very interested in. Recommended!
