Product Description

In our Bogota Layover Tour you can choose to base your tour around graffiti, the markets or exploring the streets, sights and museums in Bogotá’s historic center. Another option (only recommended when the weather is favourable) is to take a trip up to the Monserrate.

This tour is completely flexible so as to accommodate various flight times, layover periods or preferences as best we can. If you are interested in the pre-Colombian tradition, then the Gold Museum will show you the native culture and the traditions that are a trademark of this historical city. Or if art is more your thing then the Botero Museum has the biggest collection of original pieces made by the popular Colombian artist, Fernando Botero.

Other museum options include Quinta de Bolivar Museum, National Museum, Archaeological Museum, XIX Century Museum, Typical Costumes Museum, Military Museum. In an express tour such as this (depending on the duration of the tour booked) there may only be time for one Museum or Monserrate or a market, for example the famous fruit market Paloquemao.

La Candelaria keeps the magic of the colonial era alive and is the most popular area of Bogota to explore. To walk around the cobbled paths of the city center is to step back in time and witness an area where the architecture, the art and the culture are perfectly combined. You will have the opportunity to see The Congress, The Prime Cathedral, The Justice Palace and The Main Town Hall or check out some of the famous graffiti and street art pieces here in Bogota.

    :

I had a 10 hour layover from Bogota to Rio. It only made sense to go out and explore the city a bit. I had booked a walking tour from Hansa Tours. I would have to say my tour guide Juan Carrillo is such an amazing guy. He also spoke great English as he spent some time in Chicago. I believe he may be half American. He took to the the Gold Museum, a local bakeshop to have some Colombian coffee and cheese bread, La Candelaria neighborhood, Cathedral Primal (the main church on Bolivar Plaza). We walked and talked about Bogota’s history. It was short but I had a good insight of the city’s history and culture. It’s very rich and interesting city to visit as a matter of fact. I will definitely go back and explore more if given the chance. Thank you Hansa Tours and Juan! You guys rock!
