Gastronomic Tour in Bogota

La Puerta Falsa is the most traditional restaurant in Bogotá. For more than 200 years it has been here in the city, becoming a popular attraction everyone wants to visit. In this incredible place we will try tamales, hot chocolate and arepas, some of the most famous dishes between the locals.

A Colombian market, called Plaza de Mercado, is a picturesque and fun place. In there you will be able to bargain, buy, see and feel the colors and flavors of exotic fruits and vegetables that you probably won’t find anywhere else in the world. Colombia has 1,600 km of coast to the north bathed by the waters of the Caribbean Sea, and 1,300 km of coast to the west washed by the Pacific Ocean, and from these coastlines we are provided with an infinite number of delicious products. Get ready to be marveled by the huge variety of fishes, meats, vegetables and also by the beauty of the flowers that we will find in this place.

Finally, in this gastronomic Tour in Bogotá, the restaurant Casa de Citas will open the doors of its kitchen to us where you will learn to cook one of our best-known and most typical dishes: El Ajiaco Santafereño that will be the trophy and the prize that we will enjoy at the end of the day.

In case you do not want to take the gastronomic Tour in Bogotá with the cooking class, we invite you to lunch at a local restaurant. This is a regional, homely restaurant that offers an extensive menu with a dedicated, friendly service and typical Colombian music.

Daniel was our tour. Him and the driver were both amazing and accommodating. We took the cooking tour where we got to visit the amazing different markets in Bogota as well as learn how to cook some traditional Colombian dishes.

In the evening we took a sightseeing tour that allowed us to see the city from a panoramic setting. The tour guide was extremely helpful and did a great job of making us feel like we aren’t tourists.

My husband and I did a private tour of Bogota for one full day. It was fantastic. We booked with Hansa tours because they were so flexible and willing to accommodate our personal interests without charging exorbitant prices. We especially enjoyed touring the flower and food markets and trying different foods there. Our guide, Daniel, spoke excellent English and was extremely knowledgeable and informative about all the places we visited, and he was very patient in answering all our questions about Colombia’s history. Daniel and Paul (our driver) treated us like welcomed guests not paying customers.

I had an excellent experience during my private, individualized tour with David Rodríguez this past Sunday, May 21. After picking me up at the building where I was staying, we explored the traditional market, ‘Palo Quemado’. I was interested in the amazing variety of fruits and vegetables that were not familiar to me, as well as the ‘brujería’ section. We did a complete tour of ‘La Candelaria’, as well as briefer explorations of the ‘El Centro Internacional’, ‘La Macarena’, and ‘Usaquen’ neighborhoods. David was extremely knowledgeable about graffiti artists, history, culture, and Bogotá life, and also a very congenial and friendly companion. The tour really helped me to get a more comprehensive and accurate view of the city that I would never have been able to get on my own. It was perfect for me. I recommend Hansa Tours and David Rodríguez without hesitation.
