Get to know the architects and the works that shaped Bogotá
Nature, colonial heritage, modernism, and contemporaneity: four words that encompass the panorama of Bogotá's architecture. The settlements of the original culture, the Muiscas, began to define the face of this city and its privileged location on the savanna; since then, Spanish culture and the fusion that emerged from it adapted their constructions to the local geography.

Reasons to experience the architecture tour
On this tour, the historic center of La Candelaria will open the doors to the place where Bogotá was founded, at the current Chorro de Quevedo, which in its beginnings consisted of only 12 houses and one entry and exit street. Centuries multiplied those houses and the city filled with churches that preserve the essence of the colonial era in their frescoes, altars, and decorations. Streets that were once rivers shaped the first roads, and the rainy, cold climate caught the attention of the English and French, who brought with them the aesthetics of their balconies, roofs, and large windows.
Our architectural tour opens the doors to the capital's history and lets you see how a single city preserves colonial, neoclassical, Tudor, French, and modern styles, among others. In the comfort of your private transportation and with the guidance of your professional guide, you will learn how to identify the capital's architectural range in the neighborhoods of La Merced, la Macarena, Park Way, Teusaquillo, and more.

Unforgettable tours and experiences from our clients
See what our clients have to say about their incredible tours through Bogotá and various destinations across Colombia.
Bogota is one of the world's great cities - 7-8 inhabitants, lots of great neighborhoods, lots of sites to see! You could not have a better introduction than Hansa's six-hour architecture tour. Our guide, Nicole, was very knowledgeable and approachable and took us to five different neighborhoods. You'll get a sense of how Bogota's residents live today and in the past, and you'll learn a lot about the history of the city. The lunch was excellent, too. Also, arranging the tour was a snap - all set up through email and PayPal, with pickup and drop off at our hotel. I recommend this to all.
BaldvinBHTomas was our tour guide and he began the tour by putting Bogota into context. He explained both the geographical and historical reasons why the city is the way it is which helped us better understand the tour. We began with a panorama of the entire city and then moved to see arquitectural contrast among Spanish colonial, English, French and later modern and contemporary styles. We really enjoyed the tour and would love to experience more Hansa experiences in the near future.
ErikaS1662We had the most amazing tour of the city, accompanied by a very knowledgeable and personable guide, David Rodriguez. His storytelling and observations were both deep and broad. I’d highly recommend this tour.
