Colombian chocolate tour

Colombian chocolate tour

Colombia is written with a C for Chocolate

Colombia is the second most megadiverse country in the world; from its soil, internationally recognized products are born—coffee, of course, and following closely behind, chocolate. Sweet or bitter, it is present every day in the meals of Colombians, whether at breakfast, during "onces" (afternoon snack), or as a dessert.

Experience description

Reasons to experience a chocolate tasting

The warm climates and the freshness of fruits that grow throughout the country are expressed in Colombiano chocolate. National cacao has caught the attention of the Dutch, French, and Belgians, who have come to learn the reason behind its unusual sweetness, as 70% of the world's cacao is bitter. On this tour, you will learn from an expert producer how to taste its flavor.

Private transportation will provide you with the comfort of a journey from your hotel door to the entrance of the chocolate shop, which will welcome you with its unique aroma.

I'm a professional historian, but since I can remember I have been passionate about traveling. For the last 12 years I have devoted myself full time to the art of being a tour guide in Bogotá, especially on historical and cultural tours. Biologist with a master in marine ecology (Languages: Spanish, English and Portuguese)

I am a Biologist with a master in Marine Ecology. The most important task I perform when guiding is to generate awareness of the place where they are.

I am passionate about describing in different ways that Colombia is a megadiverse country, and that this is the consequence of so many strengths and weaknesses of Colombia, in terms of its history, its culture, the violence of which it has been a victim. On the other hand, I am a rock climber, it is an activity that complements my way of seeing life and showing it to others.

This was some great hours with chocolate-eduacation, Juliana talked a lot about chocolate and the history about it. The tasting experience was very good and the chocolate store , Republica de Cacao was very delicate. So delicate that i bought a lot of chocolate there, and with good offer. I can recommend it, only, if you are deeply interested in chocolate and when and where it all begun. Thank you.

This was a fantastic day with a knowledgeable and skilled guide. She knew a lot about chocolate, both its history and its flavors. I got to taste three different chocolates (which I took home afterward) and shopped in the store after the “chocolate school” ended. If you're interested in chocolate, I highly recommend this half-day tour—a delightful and informative experience all about chocolate.

Outstanding job with Esteban! He is a very intelligent and insightful guide. He explained the area in Bogota and the differences of US vs. Columbian culture. The chocolatier was a real master, Lizeth knew exactly what would interest and excite our palates. She provided excellent explanations into how those tastes are made. The driver was prompt and the experience was a pleasure.
