The Mariinsky Orchestra founded in the 18th century, is one of the oldest orchestras in Russia.
Several legendary artists have conducted the Mariinsky Orchestra, such as Berlioz, Wagner, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Nikisch and Rachmaninoff.
